FAUNA: Facts and Figures

The Subic Bay Protected Area has unique and complex ecosystems and species of flora and fauna found nowhere else. It is unique, in a sense that is possible to draw an imaginary line through it that would encompass all the known ecosystems from rainforest to grassland and mangrove habitats that blend into the marine seagrass and coral habitats.

The Subic Forest and Watershed Reserve
Classification: secondary growth lowland dipterocarp forest
Area: 10,000 hectares; 3,000 of which is closed canopy
